A day before his retirement, a government teacher is caught in the act by the police of Lokayukta

Rewa Lokayukta Police raided the District Education Center office in Satna from where the Deputy Project Coordinator (Finance) assigned to the District Education Center was caught red-handed as he accepted a bribe of 20,000 rupees.
The arrest was made a day before the clerk’s retirement.
According to the police, the accused Manish Prajapati was previously assigned as an assistant dairy officer in the district treasury. In 2019, after his deputy, he became finance manager at the District Education Center. He had demanded a commission of Rs 25,000 instead of paying the bill for the repair works carried out in the hostel built under Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan.
Complainant Jan Shikshak Umesh Trivedi, Superintendent of Boys Hostel Jawahar Nagar said Prajapati stopped payment from March this year. Despite repeated requests, payment was not made and Rs 25,000 was demanded by the clerk.
The superintendent of the hostel, Umesh Trivedi, had filed a complaint with the Lokayukta police. An amount of Rs 5,000 was taken earlier by him and on Wednesday, Manish Prajapati was arrested by Lokayukta police as he accepted the remaining amount of Rs 20,000.
The grievor is due to retire on June 30. Lokayukta Police has registered a case under the relevant sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act and an investigation is ongoing.
