Batadrava Than can be transformed into a major tourist center: Assam CM
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said on January 16 that the Batadrava Than at Bordowa in Nagaon district could be transformed into a world-class tourist and cultural hub.
Inspecting the progress of the Than development and beautification works during his two-day visit to Nagaon district, CM Sarma met with the officials of the project executing agency and asked them to Quickly complete the multi-crore project so that the first phase of the project can be dedicated in 2022 even.
Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid the foundation stone for the project on December 25, 2020.
Chief Minister Sarma visited Batadrava Than and offered his prayers for the welfare of all sections of society. He also participated in the inauguration of the rebuilt Kirtan Ghar-Monikut in Than.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister of Assam said that in line with its commitment, the state government has undertaken the Batadrava Than development and beautification project. Under the project, the government will construct an administration building, guest house, access road within one year with an approximate financial outlay of Rs 19 crore.
The Assam Chief Minister also visited the Srimanta Sankardev Research Institute in Batadrava and reviewed research materials such as manuscripts written on sanchi leaves etc.
