Chandīgarh | GDP commends women in the media
The Press Information Bureau (PIB) congratulated female journalists and media representatives at the UT State Guest House, Sector 6, on International Women’s Day on Tuesday.
An interactive session was held on the theme “Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Future”, which was also the theme for International Women’s Day, 2022. The women journalists said that while things are changing and gender roles are gradually being equalized in urban areas, much remains to be done in rural areas.
GDP, Chandigarh, Additional Director General (ADG), Rajinder Chaudhry, stressed the need for “grassroots investigative journalism” to shine a light on women-centred issues, so that change can be brought about in the society.
