CM will hold an administrative review meeting on September 13
Kolkata: Chief Minister and Supremo of Trinamool Congress (TMC) Mamata Banerjee will hold several administrative and political level meetings during his tour in Midnapore from September 12-15.
Trinamool Congress West Midnapore coordinator Ajit Maity said Banerjee is expected to reach Kharagpur on September 12 in the late afternoon and check into a guest house inside the Kharagpur Industrial Park.
On September 13, Banerjee is expected to finalize the appointment of a new East Midnapore District Sabhadhipati. The saha-sabhadhipati is currently acting as Sabhadhipati as Debabrata Das, the incumbent, died of cancer two months ago.
No less than 56 members of the Zilla Parishad (ZP) of East Midnapore were invited to attend the TMC Chairman’s meeting.
District party deputies will also attend the meeting. It has been learned that Banerjee will take advice from all Zilla Parishad members and MPs before finalizing the name of the new Sabhadhipati.
On September 13, the Chief Minister will hold an East Midnapore administrative review meeting at Nimtouri in Tamluk.
“She will lay the foundation stone and inaugurate several projects in the district from the meeting,” Maity said.
The 19 km sea route stretching from Junput to Kanthi at Digha Gate is set to be inaugurated virtually by Banerjee from his business meeting. Vehicular traffic has already started in the marine drive but its official inauguration is still pending.
The main objective of the project is the seamless connection of two major tourist destinations in East Midnapore, namely Digha and Mandarmani. There are three connecting bridges in the marine training project, namely Nayakhali, Jalda and the longest at Soila on the Pichaboni River.
Banerjee will return to Kharagpur after her administrative review meeting and the next day she will attend a job fair to be held at the stadium inside the premises of Kharagpur Industrial Park. Approximately 10,000 job opening letters will be handed out at the job fair.
Maity along with senior district and police administration officials visited the Chief Minister’s program site in Kharagpur on Saturday to oversee preparations for the venue.
