Gold Medalist Gymnast Aly Raisman to be Guest Speaker at Maison Davis Gala
The Davis House Child Advocacy Center is pleased to announce that world champion gymnast Aly Raisman will be the special speaker at their annual Button Ball gala to be held on Saturday, October 23, 2021 at Homestead Manor in Thompson’s Station, TN. This event historically took place in the spring but has moved to the fall for 2021.
Aly Raisman, team captain of the gold medalist women’s gymnastics teams in 2012 and 2016, is the second most decorated American gymnast of all time, one of only two American gymnasts to form consecutive teams in addition to 15 years old. A leader on and off the court, Raisman uses his platform to help normalize the conversation about mental health, promote positive body image and the importance of self-care. Inspired by an army of survivors, Raisman continues to advocate for systematic changes in the sport of gymnastics and the eradication of sexual abuse.
âWe are delighted to have Aly Raisman as our guest speaker this year,â said Davis House Executive Director Dr. Brent Hutchinson. âShe is a remarkable young woman with an incredible story of resilience and hope. His willingness to speak out against this scourge in youth athletics is both inspiring and commendable. “
NewsChannel 5 presenter Rhori Johnston will return as emcee. Kentucky Calling bluegrass artists will perform. The evening will include a cocktail party and silent auction, followed by dinner and a conversation with Raisman as well as a VIP meeting. A live auction will close the evening.
The event is expected to attract over 500 attendees and promises to be another big event this year. This black tie gala raises funds for the services and programs offered by Davis House to children who have experienced significant sexual or physical abuse and their families, all provided free of charge.

The Davis House Child Advocacy Center helps fight child abuse by providing services to children and their families in crisis and by providing community education focused on prevention and early intervention. Davis House welcomed 557 new children last year to Williamson, Hickman, Lewis and Perry counties. National statistics indicate that one in ten children will be sexually assaulted before their 18th birthday. Davis House relies heavily on the support of the community to provide all services free of charge to children and their families.
