The film’s official synopsis reads, “Love Hostel traces the volatile journey of a fiery young couple (Vikrant and Sanya), hunted by a ruthless mercenary (Bobby Deol). Star-crossed lovers take on the world in search of their fairy tale ending.
Love Hostel is produced by Shah Rukh Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment and Manish Mundra’s Drishyam Films.
Indian Express film critic Shubhra Gupta called the film “brutal” and “brilliant”. In her review of the film, she wrote, “Compared to Shanker Raman’s ‘Gurgaon’, ‘Love Hostel’ has more immediacy in its execution, which makes its uninterrupted violence more impactful. But as the body count builds up and the blood stream increases, you also end up numb.
She added: “Vikrant Massey and Sanya Malhotra are very good. Massey is no surprise as he has shown just how dissolved he can be in his characters; but Malhotra, who has been variable, is. Her Jyoti is perfect: she enters directly into her role and stays there until the end.
