Waterfront property on the cliff sells for $36 million
(April 16, 2022) A waterfront home on the bluff overlooking Nantucket Sound sold Friday for $36 million, the highest price ever paid for a single residential property on the island.
The 1.22-acre property located at 21 Lincoln Ave., just west of the Cliffside Beach Club, features an eight-bedroom, seven-bathroom, two-and-a-half-story, four-bedroom, three-bathroom main house, a one-and-a-half-storey guesthouse, swimming pool and spa.
The property was purchased by the blind trust Nantucket RE Investors LLC from the 21 Lincoln Avenue Nominee Trust. It was not actively in the market at the time of the sale. The property is valued at $19.8 million and last sold in 2012 for $14 million.
The main house was built in 1878 and recently renovated and updated. It has 4,900 square feet of living space.
The narrow property stretches from Lincoln Circle at the clifftop to the bluff overlooking Nantucket Sound, with stairs leading down to the beach below.
The sale generated $720,000 for the Nantucket Land Bank.
